Budgeting Ballpark

Following are a few general ‘ballpark’ guidelines for consideration when budgeting screen-based content creation for broadcast, non-broadcast and cross-platform applications.

   1. Nonprofit fundraising video - scripted (Approx.- $1,000 per minute)
   2. Corporate Presentation - scripted (Approx.- $1,000 - $3,000 per minute)
   3. HD Production – scripted (Approx.- $3,000 - $5,000 per minute)
   4. Standard Definition Broadcast Program - fully produced half hour $50,000 +
   5. Camera crews $2,000 to $3,500 per day (based on a 10 hour day)
   6. On-camera host (non union) $ 350 and up, (union) $800 per day and up
   7. Narrator (non union voice-over) $300 and up, (union) $600 and up plus record fees
   8. Scriptwriting $150 to $300 per finished minute
   9. Off-line editing $25 to $75 per hour
  10. On-line editing $150 to $250 per hour
  11. Linear multi-media production costs (Approx.- $1,000 - $3,000 per minute)
       (Interactive multimedia requires more logic and variable scenarios of viewer response, production        costs are usually priced hourly.)
